Energy & Process CFD Symposium

Symposium

You are cordially invited to our 2017 Energy & Process CFD Symposium in Houston, Texas, on May 17th and 18th. This event is free, but registration is required as space is limited. Visit our registration page to sign up today!

Just like shrewd financial portfolios, regional energy portfolios are wisely based increasingly on a diversified mix of sources. As such, this year, we have expanded our CFD symposium’s scope beyond oil/gas and chemical processing to include renewable and nuclear energy, as well as fossil fuel based power generation. This symposium acknowledges that, regardless of whether energy and process companies are involved with obtaining the fuel, processing the fuel, or converting the fuel to electricity or heat, accelerating innovation is often one of their top goals. They increasingly relying on CFD simulation and design exploration to enable them to “explore digitally and confirm physically” (rather than the slower, more costly inverse approach used in the past).

Join our community of thought-leaders from energy and process industries as we collectively discuss and exchange ideas for using engineering simulation to discover better designs, faster in order to develop innovative equipment and machines that are more efficient, more reliable, longer-lasting, safer, more environmentally friendly, and cost-affordable.

Areas of discussion could span the following range of equipment and applications: heat exchangers, separators, mixers, pumps, hydro turbines, wind turbines, gas turbines, combustors (e.g., flares and fired heaters), and design of offshore floating vessels; as well as process safety, gas dispersion, fire & smoke, fluidization, flow assurance, fluid-structure interaction (FSI), flow-induced vibration, thermal hydraulics, multiphase flow, erosion, reacting flows, thermal management and cooling, etc. Don't forget to stay engaged with us year-round through our blogs about CFD in the oil and gas industry and about CFD in the chemical process industry.
